Garage Door Repair

Your garage door is the biggest, heaviest thing in your house that moves on a regular basis, and most folks never think about it until the morning it won't go up. You're already running late, you hit the button, and nothing. Or worse, a spring lets go overnight with a bang loud enough that you figure somebody broke in. We've been getting people out of both of those jams across DFW since 2020. Nick Gharivand started Trusty that year after more than a decade turning wrenches, and what started as one truck is now a real crew that actually shows up when we say we will.

Here's how we run it. The tech in your driveway is one of ours, an in-house, background-checked Trusty employee, not somebody we found on a job board that morning to cover the route. We figure out what's actually wrong, tell you in plain English, and give you the price before anybody touches a wrench. We're not going to scare you into a new door when a forty-dollar part fixes it. Parts and labor come with a warranty, most jobs are one-and-done in a single visit, and if it's the middle of the night, we run 24/7. Phone's (214) 624-6348.

Why It Matters

A garage door under spring tension is holding enough force to break a finger, and people end up in the ER every year finding that out the hard way on a DIY spring job. But safety's only half of it. For a lot of homes that door is the single biggest way into the house, so once it's hanging off its track or sitting crooked, you've got a security hole, an air leak, and a problem that loves to spread. One chewed-up roller starts grinding the track, a frayed cable snaps and takes its partner with it, and a tired spring makes the opener motor work overtime until it cooks itself. Catch it while it's small and you're paying for a part. Let it ride and you're paying for a door. A door that's balanced right also runs easy, which is the whole reason your opener lasts. And honestly, in this part of Texas the weather does half the damage for you. The summer heat out here is rough on hardware, the storms roll through fast, and that constant swing wears parts out quicker than people expect.

Signs You Need Garage Door Repair

  • The door won't open or shut at all, or it starts down and bounces right back up
  • You heard a bang from the garage and now the door weighs a ton or won't lift, which is almost always a snapped spring
  • Grinding, screeching, or a rattle that wasn't there before, or the door shudders on its way up
  • It's hanging crooked or one side climbs faster than the other
  • The opener hums but nothing happens, the remote's dead, or it only cooperates some of the time
  • Frayed cables, a gap along the bottom, or a panel that's dented or cracked

How We Do It

  1. Call or book online and tell us what the door's doing. We'll get a real tech scheduled, usually same day, and we answer 24/7 if it's a genuine emergency
  2. When the tech gets there, he runs a full safety check on the springs, cables, rollers, tracks, opener, and balance so we fix the cause and not just the noise
  3. You get a straight quote in plain language before any work starts, and if there's more than one reasonable way to go, we lay out your options
  4. We knock out the repair right there whenever we can, with quality warranty-backed parts we keep stocked on the truck
  5. Before we pull out of the driveway we re-balance the door, test it, and show you what we did so you know it opens quiet and safe

What Affects the Price

  • • What actually broke. A single roller or reprogramming a remote is small potatoes; torsion springs, cables, or opener gears mean more parts and more time
  • • Single door versus double, plus how big and heavy it is, since insulated and custom doors carry a lot more hardware
  • • Whether we've got the part on the truck or it's something that has to be matched or special-ordered
  • • After-hours or middle-of-the-night versus a regular daytime visit
  • • One quick fix versus a handful of worn parts at once, since handling everything in one trip usually beats paying for two. For an actual number, run our online quote calculator or just call us at (214) 624-6348. We keep it honest

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you really get it done the same day?

Usually, yeah. We keep the common stuff on the truck, springs, rollers, cables, opener parts, so a big chunk of repairs wrap up in one visit. For true emergencies we're around 24/7. Call us earlier in the day and you've got the best shot at a same-day slot.

My spring broke. Can't I just swap it myself?

I'd really rather you didn't. Torsion and extension springs are holding a scary amount of stored energy, and one slip can put you in the hospital. It's also easy to grab the wrong size and burn out your opener doing it. Our guys carry the right springs and the right winding bars, and the work's warranty-backed, so it's safer and honestly quicker to let us deal with it.

Do you send subcontractors?

Never have, never will. Every tech is an in-house, background-checked Trusty employee. You're getting somebody trained who's got our name on his shirt and stands behind the work, not a stranger filling in for the day.

Are you going to try to sell me a whole new door?

No. That's just not how we work. We find the real problem and quote the repair it needs. If a part fixes it, that's what we tell you. We'll only bring up replacement when a door is genuinely too far gone to fix sensibly, and even then it's your call and there's zero pressure from us.

What's my repair going to run me?

Depends on what failed, the size of the door, and the parts involved, so we don't throw out exact prices over the phone without seeing it. You'll always get an upfront quote before we start. Want a ballpark? Run our online quote calculator or call us at (214) 624-6348.

Is the work under warranty?

It is. We back parts and labor both, and we use quality components instead of the cheapest thing on the shelf. If something's not right after we leave, we come back and make it right.

What parts of DFW do you cover?

We're out of Plano and we run all over the metroplex, Frisco, Fort Worth, and everywhere in between. Not sure if you're in our range? Just call. Odds are good we've got you.
